Are you expecting a baby or do you have a baby less than 1 year?

Come to Parents Connecting – Growing Baby and meet other parents in a relaxed atmosphere.

We offer opportunities for parents to make connections with other parents from the community as well as professional and support staff.

The babies also have opportunities to make connections with other babies.  (It is a fascinating thing to see!)

Parents are invited to participate with our community nutritionist in making a nutritious snack that we all share during the session.

¨     Expectant parents and mothers of babies up to 6 months old may receive milk coupons.

Bus tickets are available if you need them to get to the program.

Our Staff

Hello!

I am Lisa Bittner

I am the Coordinator of the Healthy Baby – Parents Connecting program. I would like to introduce you to our dedicated TEAM members: from Elmwood Community Resource Centre and Area Association:

Diana – Hi,…

I am the Facilitator of the program; I would like to take this opportunity to invite expectant moms and parents of babies up to one year old to come out to our program.  You will have the opportunity to meet other parents as well as speak to the public health nurse and the nutritionist about different issues that concern you and your baby.  We meet on Thursday afternoons from 1:15 pm until 3:15 pm.

We offer milk coupons to expectant moms and babies up to 6 months, as well as bus tickets to those who need them to come out to the program.  We do some rhymes and songs, community events and then the session topic of that day.

Sometimes we have speakers that come in and sometimes we deliver the topics ourselves.  In the past we have done topics on; Car seat safety, Music and your child, Speech and Language development, Daycare issues, Birth control issues, Fire Prevention, Postpartum Depression, Breastfeeding and Breast health, Infant feeding, Household safety issues, and many more.   We offer free child care in the next room, for children over 1 and under 5 while you and your baby are with us.  I would like to introduce our two wonderful child minders:

Yesenia – Hi,...

I have been a child minder at Parents Connecting – Healthy Baby for 8 years. We do songs and activities, stories and share a snack.  I also assist with the paperwork on the TEAM and look forward to meeting you.

Doris – Hi,…

I have been with the TEAM for 3 years and love the kids!  I like to bring crafts and theme activities for your kids to do.  We make it fun and give you piece of mind while you have time with the rest of the TEAM.  I look forward to talking to you soon!
